NexTag
Below we have outlined how NexTag works. We hope you find this NexTag information useful. If you have any additional information regarding NexTag that you would like us to review or include please contact us. NexTag is currently not affiliated with us and the comments are strictly those of our editors.
NexTag like all CSE's Comparison Shopping Engines, earn their revenue by displaying merchants prices and getting consumers like me and you to click on these displayed ads. The business model for NexTag and all other CSE's is to give the consumer the best experience on their site so that the consumer will consistently come back to compare every product he/she will buy in the future. NexTag has many competitors that offer a similar comparison service. Each will be reviewed individually and a summary will be compiled.
Why should I use NexTag or any other CSE? You just made a decision to purchase an Ipod and now it boils down to "who can deliver the best price". Choice 1 - go to 40 individual web sites and look up the prices and take notes as you accumulate each price plus the shipping charges and don't forget tax if the vendor is located in your state. The time to do this your entire weekend! Now lets take a look at NexTag!
NexTag.com like all other comparison shopping
engines has an alphabetical listing of products and sub products to choose from.
Interesting about Nextag.com is that they choose to use 66% of the home page for
products ant the other 34% for Mortgage Hotels and education. There appears to
be a great conversion and payoff for those areas and therefore they are featured
on the home page. Remember NexTag.com like all other sites are not out to find
the lowest price for you, rather to display the highest bidder first.
I decided to drill down on electronics and got
back the above screen. The categories vary from 14 items in Minidisk to
65,662 items in Audio and Video Accessories. I am not excited about the listing
method. I would prefer additional linked to many other sub topics on this page.
You are probably wandering whey don't they correct it? The bottom of the page is
a clear indicator that each additional page displayed ads to the number of
impressions and ads served.
Lets look at NexTag.com CD Players and
Recorders. The last listing Pioneer CD J200 Professional DJ CD Player has 12
sellers ranging from $329-$399. Before you click to see all 12 sellers,
Nextag.com already displays their premium advertisers in red as a hyperlink to
grab your attention and help increase conversion for these stores. Again, NexTag
is not concerned with displaying the three lowest prices which is the reason you
actually came to the site "to compare all prices and then choose a reputable
dealer/reseller to purchase from". The Sony RCD 500C is listed starting from
$220 yet the lowest price in red is Etronics at $225.
Pioneer CDJ 2000 - Have you heard of most of
these vendors?
TV City, Electronic Expo, DJ Deals, ZZounds and
SameDavMusic. The available since date helps put the product in perspective.
this product has been available since July 30, 2005.
Price History helps consumers see the price
trend over time. There is also a number of sellers and leads per month which
indicates the products popularity. Overall its a good site.
