The business model for Cnet and all other CSE's is to give the consumer the best experience on their site so that the consumer will consistently come back to compare every product he/she will buy in the future. Cnet has many competitors that offer a similar comparison service. Each will be reviewed individually and a summary will be compiled.
Why should I use Cnet or any other CSE? You just made a decision to purchase a Camcorder and now it boils down to "who can deliver the best price". Choice 1 - go to 40 individual web sites and look up the prices and take notes as you accumulate each price plus the shipping charges and don't forget tax if the vendor is located in your state.
